ISO Partners

In payment processing, ISO stands for Independent Sales Organization. ISOs are third-party companies that act as intermediaries, connecting merchants with payment processors to enable them to accept electronic payments. They essentially help businesses get set up to accept credit cards and other payment methods, and they may also provide other services like POS systems and software.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • ISOs act as "matchmakers":

They bring together merchants looking for payment processing solutions with acquiring banks and payment processors that offer those services.

  • They handle the "front end":

While acquiring banks and payment processors handle the actual transaction processing, ISOs focus on onboarding new merchants, providing support, and sometimes even offering equipment and software.

  • They are authorized to sell services:

ISOs are typically authorized by acquiring banks to sell merchant services on their behalf.

  • They can be large or small:

Some ISOs are large companies, while others are individual entrepreneurs or smaller businesses.

  • They are not payment processors themselves:

While some payment processors also act as ISOs, most ISOs don't handle the technical details of processing transactions.

Merchant Processing

Merchant processing refers to the services and systems that allow businesses to accept electronic payments from customers. It involves everything from collecting payment information to ensuring the secure transfer of funds. This process typically includes services like payment gateways, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and online transaction processing.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Accepting payments:

Merchant processing enables businesses to accept credit cards, debit cards, and other digital payment methods from customers.

  • Secure transactions:

It provides the infrastructure and tools to facilitate secure online and offline transactions, ensuring the protection of customer data.

  • Payment processing:

Merchant service providers handle the technical aspects of processing payments, including authorization, clearing, and settlement.

  • Funding accounts:

The payment processor facilitates the transfer of funds from the customer's bank account to the merchant's account.

  • Fees and reporting:

Businesses typically pay fees to the payment processor for their services. Merchant processing statements provide detailed information about transactions, sales, and fees.

Credit Card Processing

Credit card processing residuals are recurring income that merchant services sales representatives earn by onboarding and retaining clients for credit card processing. These residuals are a percentage of the fees each client pays for processing credit card transactions, offering a passive income stream as the clients continue using the service.

How Credit Card Processing Residuals Work:

  • Sales Reps Earn Residuals:

Merchant services sales reps (or ISOs) sign up businesses to use credit card processing services.

  • Client Volume Creates Income:

The more businesses a sales rep brings on, and the higher the volume of transactions they process, the greater the residual income.

  • Residuals as a Percentage:

A portion of the fees each client pays for credit card processing is allocated to the sales rep as their residual.

  • Ongoing Income:

Residual income is typically paid monthly, as long as the clients continue to use the processing services.

Onboarding

ISO merchant processing clients can now select from our suite of non-profit 501c3 organizations to receive a donation, directly from the merchant residual account balance. This streamlined and turn-key approach is available to any merchant of participating ISO processors.

Merchants of any size, that accept credit card transactions, are eligible to donate, to the organization they designate.

The Giving Key platform is open to any registered 501c3, in any market, in any US domicile. The Giving Key provides a dashboard, showing the residual account balance, available to donate; and a full library of participating non-profit organizations. Once the 501c3 entity is selected, the merchant confirms the amount, and transaction is executed. Giving Key then generates a receipt, and sends a notice to the organization.

How it Works?

Scope and Objective

Giving Key and Giving Key App provides ISO's and their Merchant Clients the ability to donate Credit Card residuals to 501c3 Non-Profit Organizations, by allowing them to select from a library of Non-Profits available in the App. Non-Profit organizations may register at the onboarding portal, by providing their Tax-ID credentials and stated business profile, then submitting for approval. Additionally, ISO's may extend an invitation link to onboard with Giving Key to their Merchant clients. At the Onboarding Portal, approved Merchants and 501c3 partners will need to establish a Stripe account, in order to send or receive residual donations.

ISO Partners will also need to establish new Stripe account credentials, in order to reflect available balances, and facilitate the residual donation transfers. Residual balances made available for donation by Merchants will be demonstrated in the Giving Key App dashboard. The ISO Admin dashboard will reflect merchant client residual balances, account history and activity, and new account onboarding status. The ISO admin dashboard will also contain Terms and Conditions, Pricing Tiers and Privacy disclosures, agreed to at account opening by the ISO. All new account applications are subject to terms and approval by Giving Key.

Mission and Purpose

It is the Mission of Giving Key to provide a B2B platform for 501c3 charitable organizations to receive donations directly from merchants, using credit card residuals made available by the ISO Partners. Completion of this process is facilitated using the Giving Key App and the ISO Admin dashboard, which includes Stripe account functionality. To receive donations, 501c3 partners must also confirm Stripe account functionality. All Stripe terms and account conditions apply. It is not the purpose of Giving Key to provide payment processing services to end user merchants.

Top-Up Functionality

Regarding Top-Up Functionality, should Individual Merchant Partners (Individuals) wish to make additional donations, using a personal credit or debit card. This process can be accommodated using the donate/shopping cart link, provided by the 501c3 Organization at onboarding. Account onboarding requirements and 501c3 credentials are provided in the application process, and submitted for approval by Giving Key. This includes a link for Top-Up donations, should one be available.
